Coinbase Expands into UK Stock Trading with 4,000 US Equities

Coinbase, a leading US-based cryptocurrency exchange, is expanding its services into UK stock trading. The company plans to offer approximately 4,000 US-listed stocks through its app, allowing eligible UK investors access to these assets around the clock, five days a week.

The service will enable users to fund trades instantly using British pounds or USDC, Coinbase's dollar-pegged stablecoin. This integration of crypto and traditional finance reflects a broader trend among digital asset platforms seeking to diversify their product offerings.

Coinbase's entry into UK stock trading positions the company as a direct competitor to established retail brokerage platforms like Hargreaves Lansdown, Interactive Investor, and newer app-based services such as Revolut and Trading 212. By offering US stock access alongside its crypto services, Coinbase aims to become a one-stop financial super-app for retail investors.
