Coinbase Expands into US Equities Trading for UK Users

Coinbase has launched commission-free trading of nearly 4,000 US stocks for eligible UK users. This move makes it the first crypto-native trading platform to offer US equities in the UK.

The rollout comes after Coinbase received authorization to provide investment services in the UK. This approval allows the company to broaden its product suite beyond crypto and enables institutional and sophisticated investors to trade crypto, equity, and commodity derivatives.

Retail customers will also gain access to equities through the Coinbase platform, with users able to trade commission-free from as little as £1 using fractional shares. Trades can be funded instantly using GBP or USDC, and Coinbase One subscribers will receive uncapped rewards on their USDC holdings.
