Coinbase Expands Trading and Investment Features for U.S. Users
Coinbase has rolled out a series of new features, including the ability for U.S. users to request IPO shares directly in the app. This marks the platform's move into primary equity access, allowing users to invest in initial public offerings of companies. The new feature, available as of September 2026, is a significant development for Coinbase and its users.
The platform has also introduced Agentic trading via Grok, an AI agent that can execute trades on behalf of users. This feature has already accounted for a significant portion of automated trading activity following its public launch. Additionally, users can now access prediction markets through Coinbase Wallet, allowing them to speculate on the outcomes of various events.
Other updates include the ability for eligible U.S. clients to secure USDC loans using HYPE and ZEC as collateral. This feature is executed using wrapped tokens on the Base network and an integrated on-chain lending protocol. Global trading fees on Coinbase Advanced have also been lowered and simplified, with changes to fee structures and additional benefits for USDC holders and Coinbase One members.
