Coinbase Expands US Derivatives Infrastructure with DCO Registration
Coinbase has expanded its regulated U.S. derivatives infrastructure with the registration of Coinbase Clearing LLC as a Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO) by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
The CFTC registered Coinbase Clearing on September 28, 2026, allowing it to clear fully collateralized futures, options on futures, and swaps.
This development adds a clearing function to Coinbase's existing regulated derivatives structure, which includes an affiliated Futures Commission Merchant (FCM), Designated Contract Market (DCM), and DCO entity.
