Coinbase Files to Launch Over 50 Single-Stock Perpetual Futures

Share

Coinbase is expanding its derivatives business beyond cryptocurrencies by filing to list more than 50 single-stock perpetual futures in the United States. This move would make Coinbase's offering the first U.S. single-stock perpetual futures product, subject to regulatory clearance.

The proposed contracts would provide exposure to some of the largest U.S. companies, including Nvidia, Microsoft and Tesla. Unlike conventional futures contracts, which have predetermined expiration dates, perpetual futures can remain open indefinitely as long as traders maintain required margin levels.

Coinbase already provides perpetual futures tied to cryptocurrencies in the U.S. market. If approved, this would extend its derivatives infrastructure to individual stocks and give traders another way to gain leveraged exposure to major American companies.
