Coinbase Halts Michigan Sports Offerings Amid Ongoing Litigation

Coinbase has agreed to pull its sports event contracts from Michigan while the Sixth Circuit Court untangles a web of litigation over the legality of prediction market platform sports offerings across two other states.

The move comes after Coinbase was served with a notice that it must temporarily halt its operations in Michigan as part of an ongoing dispute over the legality of its sports betting offerings.

The Sixth Circuit Court is currently reviewing a case brought by the State of Ohio and another state against prediction market platforms, which argue that their sports betting offerings are illegal under state law.
