Coinbase Hit Hard by CLARITY Act Setback: Saxo Bank Weighs In
Coinbase is facing significant fallout from the US Senate's failure to advance the Digital Asset Market Clarity, or CLARITY, Act. Saxo Bank strategist Ruben Dalfovo believes that exchanges like Coinbase are more exposed to clearer market rules than other companies because they directly affect their trading businesses.
The CLARITY Act failed a key procedural vote on Tuesday, with senators voting 49-50 against invoking cloture on a motion to proceed to the bill. This means that the legislation's path forward is significantly narrowed, leaving lawmakers with only a small window to revive it before the current Congress ends in December.
Coinbase (COIN) shares fell between 5% and 10% after the Senate procedural vote, despite differences in how the legislation could affect its business. Dalfovo noted that Coinbase is most exposed to clearer market rules because trading and crypto participation directly affect its business.
