Coinbase Launches Bitcoin Prediction Market with 2026 Price Target
Coinbase has introduced a new prediction market where traders can bet on the future price of Bitcoin. The market centers around a target price of $85,530.47 for BTC, with an expiry date set for October 6, 2026. The total interest in this market has already reached $1,890,414.26, reflecting significant trader engagement.
The prediction market operates through regulated “Yes/No” contracts. Traders can buy “Yes” if they believe the event (hitting the target price) will occur or “No” if they think it will not. The price of the contract reflects the market’s odds, and if traders are correct, they earn a payout based on the contract’s final value.
To participate, users need a Coinbase account and must complete onboarding with Coinbase Financial Markets (CFM), including identity verification and financial details. Trading is available 24/7, except during a weekly maintenance window from Thursday 3:00-5:00 am ET. Payouts occur after settlement, although delays may happen due to banking hours or third-party confirmation.
Coinbase emphasizes that trading prediction contracts involves substantial risk and may result in the loss of the entire investment. The platform is not liable for errors or delays in content, and the information provided is for informational purposes only, not investment advice.
