Coinbase Launches Prediction Market for MLB Game

Coinbase has introduced a new prediction market on its platform, allowing users to bet on the outcome of future events. The first market is focused on a baseball game between Milwaukee and Cincinnati, with a payout of $185 if the user correctly predicts the result of the third inning.

The market will expire when an outcome occurs or by September 7, 2026, at 10:40 PM GMT+0, whichever comes first. Trading is prohibited for certain individuals, including current and former players, coaches, and staff of the league, as well as paid employees of the league and league participants.

The Coinbase Financial Markets (CFM) entity offers regulated derivatives trading on a wide range of events, including crypto, economics, politics, sports, entertainment, technology, science, and more. Users can trade with cash in their main Coinbase account, which will be moved to their derivatives account for positions held.
