SEC Greenlights Nasdaq Rule Naming XRP Alongside Bitcoin and Ether
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has approved changes to Nasdaq Texas Rule 5711(d), specifically naming XRP alongside Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana as digital assets meeting commodity-based trust standards.
This approval allows crypto trusts to hold at least 85% in qualifying assets and up to 15% in other digital commodities or certain securities, enabling more diversified and actively managed crypto ETFs.
While XRP's price dropped slightly amid broader market pressures, institutional demand remains strong with significant ETF inflows and major financial firms increasing holdings.
