Coinbase Launches Prediction Market for Nashville vs. Toronto Match
Coinbase has launched a prediction market allowing users to trade contracts on the outcome of the Nashville vs. Toronto match. This market, set to close by October 7, 2026, has already seen significant interest, with a total of $645 traded and an interest of $492.74.
The market operates on a simple principle: each contract pays $1 if the event happens and $0 if it does not. The price of the contract reflects the market’s odds. For example, a price of $0.65 indicates a 65% chance of the event occurring. Users can buy “Yes” if they believe the event will happen or “No” if they think it will not.
To participate, users need a Coinbase account and must complete onboarding with Coinbase Financial Markets (CFM), including identity verification and basic income/net worth details. Once approved, users can fund their accounts and start trading using cash (USD and USDC) from their main Coinbase account.
Coinbase emphasizes that prediction markets involve substantial risk and may result in the loss of the entire investment. The company is not responsible for any errors or delays in content and does not provide investment advice. Users are encouraged to understand the product and assess its appropriateness for their financial situation before trading.
