Coinbase Launches Soccer Prediction Market
A new prediction market has been added to Coinbase, allowing users to bet on the outcome of sports events. The first market is for the soccer match between Sao Bernardo and AC Goianiense, with a 'BTTS' (both teams to score) option available.
The market will expire on September 21, 2026, if no outcome occurs, or when an outcome is confirmed by an independent exchange. Trading is currently prohibited for certain individuals, including current and former players, coaches, and staff of the league governing the event, as well as paid employees of the league and its participants.
The price of the 'Yes' option is $0.65, indicating a 65% chance that both teams will score. Users can trade regulated 'Yes/No' contracts on various outcomes in crypto, economics, politics, sports, entertainment, technology, science, and more.
