Coinbase Migrates International Exchange to Deribit
Coinbase has completed the migration of its international exchange to Deribit, a move that affects eligible institutional clients outside the United States and select jurisdictions.
The migration was completed on October 1, with maintenance finishing at 10:02 UTC. The previous platform, Coinbase International Exchange, was put in read-only mode, and trading is now taking place on Deribit.
Institutions that used API or FIX connections need to adopt Deribit endpoints and new API keys, as International Exchange keys are no longer valid. The migration also changed trading elements, including instrument names and order attributes.
Open orders on International Exchange were canceled and must be recreated by clients who want to resume them. For migrated perpetual positions, settlement is now carried out once a day at 08:00 UTC, replacing International Exchange's five-minute cycle.
Coinbase notes that legacy history from International Exchange does not appear on Deribit, and the order and trade history APIs will remain accessible for about 12 months after the migration.
