Coinbase Offers Instant Access to New Tokens via Re-Activated 'New Launches' Tab
Coinbase has re-promoted its New Launches tab on July 27, highlighting its ability to let users trade Base and Solana tokens as soon as they appear on-chain. This feature is part of a broader product update called System Update, which was launched on June 16.
The tab sits inside Coinbase's decentralized exchange interface, not its centralized order book. Automated indexing detects new on-chain assets on Base and Solana without requiring setup from token issuers. Third-party filters screen for malicious contracts before tokens surface in the app.
Users must create a self-custody wallet before accessing the tab. The distinction matters: tokens on this tab have not passed Coinbase's formal centralized listing review, which typically involves legal, compliance, and technical security checks over a period of one to two weeks.
The timing of the promotional push is difficult to separate from Coinbase's revenue mix heading into its July 30 earnings call. Analysts expect Q2 revenue of approximately $1.31B, a 12.8% decline from the year-ago quarter.
