Coinbase Powers Roundtable's Live DeFi Media Payment Platform
Roundtable's real-time DeFi media payment platform has gone live, powered by Coinbase. The platform enables instant settlement in USDC for journalists using smart wallets connected to their Coinbase accounts. This integration is part of a larger $100 million ecosystem that will migrate major media brands from traditional fiat currency payments to Web3 technology.
According to James Heckman, CEO of Roundtable, this move marks the beginning of decentralized, independent journalism. 'USDC is no longer an abstract promise for commercial use,' he said. 'We are embracing DeFi and crypto banking, starting with journalists being fairly rewarded for value already created.'
The platform combines Coinbase's USDC payment infrastructure with Roundtable's enterprise-level Web3 media OS and AI-driven smart wallet system. This allows publishers and journalists to have full autonomy, transparency, and control of their IP while creating and connecting with their audience.
