Coinbase Pursues Approval for Stock-Linked Perpetual Futures in US
Coinbase is seeking regulatory approval to offer perpetual futures tied to individual stocks in the U.S., expanding its derivatives business beyond digital assets.
The proposed contracts would cover 50-60 major stocks, including Apple, Microsoft, Tesla, and Nvidia, pending clearance from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
Coinbase Derivatives has filed a proposal with the CFTC to list single-stock perpetual futures in the U.S., building on its existing perpetual futures market.
The contracts would allow traders to access equities such as Apple and Nvidia 24/5 without requiring ownership of the underlying shares.
