Coinbase Removes 29 Altcoins from Perpetuals Collateral
Coinbase has removed 29 altcoins from eligible perpetual-futures collateral on its International Exchange, reducing the margin value that some users can draw from their existing token balances.
The move is limited to Coinbase's International Exchange and does not affect spot market listings or customer ownership of the affected tokens. A token balance may remain in an account without supporting margin, but its contribution to collateral calculation for perpetual futures will be zero.
Coins that are no longer eligible as collateral include AERO, ALGO, APT, ARB, ATOM, AVAX, BCH, BNB, BONK, CRV, DOT, FARTCOIN, FIL, ICP, INJ, JASMY, LTC, ONDO, PENGU, OP, PEPE, PUMP, SEI, SHIB, SUI, UNI, VET, XLM and ZORA.
Only users who rely on these coins as collateral for open positions will need to review their accounts. The change does not reflect a price outlook or valuation of the affected assets. It is part of Coinbase's risk management system to tighten collateral eligibility.
