Coinbase Revenue Falls Short of Estimates Amid Weaker Crypto Market Activity
Coinbase's Q2 earnings report fell short of expectations as revenue dropped to $1.22 billion, below the estimated $1.3 billion.
The company reported a GAAP loss of $1.36 per share, worse than the anticipated $0.42 loss.
However, despite this, Coinbase gained market share in crypto and derivatives trading for the third consecutive quarter and saw strong growth in newer revenue streams like prediction markets.
The company's subscription and services revenue now make up 48% of net revenue, showing diversification beyond Bitcoin trading fees.
