Coinbase Revenue Missed Estimates, But Other Business Lines Soar
Coinbase's quarterly earnings report missed expectations, with revenue of $1.22 billion falling short of analyst estimates at $1.29 billion.
Despite this, COIN stock rebounded from a 7% drop after the earnings release and was up 3.59% to trade at $163 as of press time.
The company's prediction market revenue and contracts rose 106% from the previous quarter, reaching annualized revenue over $100 million.
Coinbase also achieved a record 10.3% share of global crypto trading volume, marking its third consecutive quarter of market share gains.
Chief Executive Brian Armstrong emphasized that Coinbase is no longer solely focused on Bitcoin, but rather positioned across various areas such as trading, payments, and lending.
