Coinbase Seeks CFTC Approval for US-Listed Stock Perpetual Futures
Coinbase Derivatives has filed with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission to offer cash-settled perpetual futures tied to individual U.S.-listed stocks and exchange-traded funds.
The proposed contracts would be similar to those already available internationally, but this filing seeks approval for them in the U.S. market through a regulated structure.
Coinbase's existing international equity derivatives business offers perpetual futures to eligible non-U.S. users, according to Wu Blockchain, and this new filing is aimed at extending similar products into the U.S. market.
