Coinbase Seeks SEC Greenlight for 24/7 Equity Perpetuals

Share

Coinbase is seeking approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to list its equity perpetuals, which would allow U.S. investors to trade these assets 24/7.

This move follows the company's success in launching perpetual futures in March, allowing people outside the U.S. to trade specific stocks including Apple Inc., Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Amazon.

Equity perps are a type of futures contract without an expiration date that enables investors to bet on price movements without directly owning the assets.

Coinbase Chief Policy Officer Faryar Shirzad stated that equity perps have proven demand internationally and the company is excited about the prospect of a regulated pathway for U.S. investors.
