Coinbase Seeks to Bring Perpetual Futures to US Equities

Share

Coinbase is attempting to bring perpetual futures to U.S. traders by listing cash-settled contracts referencing individual stocks and ETFs.

The CFTC currently lists the Single Stock Perpetual Futures Contract as a security futures product with approval pending, with Apple serving as the representative contract.

Coinbase proposes several requirements for an individual stock to qualify, including a market capitalization of at least $100 billion, estimated deliverable supply over 20 million shares, and average daily transaction value of at least $450 million over the previous six months.
