Coinbase Sets New Record for Crypto Market Share Despite Quarterly Loss
Coinbase, one of the leading crypto exchanges, has reported a record high in its share of global crypto trading volume at 10.3% for Q2 2026.
The company ended the quarter with a net loss of $359.5 million, though this narrowed compared to the previous quarter's loss of $394.1 million.
Coinbase attributed its revenue decline to market weakness, citing a 15% drop in total crypto trading volume and an 11% fall in crypto market capitalization.
The exchange noted that 88% of its net revenue no longer depends on spot Bitcoin trading, with the Subscription and Services segment reaching $555 million in Q2.
