Coinbase Shares Slide Amid Crypto Market Downturn
Coinbase Global shares declined by 5.6% in premarket trading on July 31 after reporting its third consecutive quarterly loss.
The decline comes as the cryptocurrency market faces significant losses, with Bitcoin plummeting by over 27% this year so far.
Analysts at Raymond James attributed the quarterly loss to the crypto cycle, but noted that Coinbase's business fundamentals remain strong and diversified revenue streams will cushion it from a downturn.
Coinbase has made efforts to diversify its business, moving away from spot Bitcoin trading and focusing on stablecoins and retail derivatives.
