Coinbase Shifts Trading Activity from International Exchange to Deribit

Share

Coinbase has completed its migration of International Exchange to Deribit, marking an end to trading on its former international venue. The old exchange is now read-only, with all trading activity transferred to Deribit.

The migration was marked as complete at 10:02 UTC on October 1, and affected institutional clients will need to establish new trading connections and settlement cycles on Deribit. This includes non-US institutions in select jurisdictions, who are limited to using Deribit's API or FIX connections with newly created keys.

Clients using the Coinbase app or website will not be directly impacted by this change, as their account and core workflows remain unchanged. However, users of the Advanced Trade API for derivatives will need to switch to the new Deribit-powered gateway.
