Coinbase Stock Bounces Back as Bitcoin Rallies Amid Tokenized Trading Hopes
Coinbase stock rebounded on Thursday after two days of selloffs, with Bitcoin holding above $76K and the SEC opening up tokenized stock trading.
The company's shares fell 4.42% to $164.51 on Wednesday, following a 10% drop on Tuesday, as the Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act. This led to concerns about regulatory uncertainty and higher interest rates.
However, Thursday saw a change in sentiment with Bitcoin recovering above $76,000 after the Federal Reserve's rate increase. Coinbase shares rose roughly 4% as a result.
The SEC's announcement of a five-year exemption for tokenized stock trading provided a new catalyst for Coinbase. The company has been positioning itself to capitalize on this emerging market, which could expand its business beyond conventional cryptocurrency trading.
