Coinbase Stock Plunges Amid Revenue Miss and Analyst Downgrades
Coinbase Global, Inc. (COIN), a leading cryptocurrency exchange and financial services platform, has seen its shares underperform the broader market over the past year.
The company's stock value has declined by 61.3% compared to the S&P 500 Index's ($SPX) nearly 17.7% gain during this time frame.
Narrowing the focus, COIN's underperformance is also evident when compared to the First Trust SkyBridge Crypto Industry and Digital Economy ETF (CRPT), which has declined by about 52.5% over the past year.
In its most recent quarterly results, COIN reported revenue of $1.2 billion, surpassing analyst estimates of $1.3 billion, but its adjusted loss per share of $1.36 significantly missed expectations of $0.23.
