Coinbase Global, Inc. experienced a significant decline in its stock price, falling over 12% in regular trading on July 31. This downturn followed the company's Q2 earnings report, which revealed both revenue missing consensus estimates and losses exceeding market expectations.

Despite a weak trading environment, Coinbase reported that its crypto trading volume market share reached a record high of 10.3% in Q2, driven by growth in both spot and derivatives trading. The company also disclosed that stablecoin revenue totaled $292 million, supported by record-high average USDC holdings across Coinbase products.

Multiple analysts responded to the earnings report by cutting price targets for Coinbase's stock. Piper Sandler lowered its target to $146, while China Renaissance adjusted its target to $211 from $231, maintaining a Buy rating. Citi reduced its target from $400 to $235.
