Coinbase Global's stock price rose by 4.8% on Monday to $187.14 per share, after trading as high as $187.20.

This increase comes amidst a series of positive developments for the company. Coinbase has partnered with Webull to extend its services into Canada, where cryptocurrency ownership reaches approximately 25% of the population. This expansion is expected to broaden Coinbase's institutional and retail user base.

In another move, Japan's Metaplanet transferred over 3,200 Bitcoin worth around $480 million to Coinbase Prime for custody. The company's CEO stated that these transfers are not intended as a sale, suggesting growing demand for Coinbase's institutional custody platform.

Coinbase is also introducing perpetual futures to its Base app, which could increase trading activity and fee revenue, expanding the company's derivatives presence.
