OpenSea Finally Enters Solana NFT Market After Four-Year Struggle

OpenSea has finally added support for Solana NFT trading on its platform after four years of trying.

The marketplace initially tested the waters with a beta integration in April 2022, but it failed to gain traction due to competition from native Solana platforms like Magic Eden and Tensor.

With its rebuilt OS2 platform as the foundation, OpenSea has relaunched its efforts to capture a share of the Solana NFT market. The company started listing Solana fungible tokens in April 2025, including WIF and FARTCOIN, before adding NFT support on the same chain.

The timing is significant, as OpenSea emerged from an SEC investigation earlier this year without any enforcement action, removing regulatory uncertainty that had hung over its strategic planning. The company's CEO, Devin Finzer, has been pushing for a unified on-chain trading experience.
