Coinbase Stock Surges 11.2% After Meeting with Trump and White House Officials
Coinbase (COIN) stock surged 11.2% in morning trading after its CEO, Brian Armstrong, and other industry leaders met with President Trump and White House officials to push for clearer digital-asset market rules.
The meeting is part of efforts by the crypto industry to pass the CLARITY Act, which would set clearer jurisdiction over crypto trading. However, the bill remains stuck in the Senate, leaving the industry dependent on SEC and CFTC rulemaking for now.
Coinbase's stock often trades as a leveraged proxy for Bitcoin, and its price is directly tied to the performance of BTC. According to The Crypto Times, Bitcoin rebounded toward the $65,000 level after trading near the low-$62,000s, briefly reclaiming a key resistance zone for the first time since August 10.
The White House meeting's success and Bitcoin's price will determine how far COIN stock rises. A policy catalyst plus higher implied trading activity has led to the surge in Coinbase's shares.
