Coinbase Surges to Record 10.3% Market Share Amid Weaker Crypto Market
Coinbase, the leading US-based cryptocurrency exchange, has hit an all-time high in market share, capturing 10.3% of global crypto trading volume in Q2 2026.
This milestone marks the third consecutive quarter of market-share gains for Coinbase, which now brands itself as the 'Everything Exchange'.
The company's trading volume market share rose from 9.1% in the previous quarter to 10.3%, despite a broadly weaker market with an 11% decline in total capitalization and a 25% drop in industry-wide spot trading volumes.
Coinbase processed $146.4 billion in crypto spot trading volume during the quarter, while reaching an all-time high in crypto derivatives trading volume market share for the third straight quarter.
The company's CEO, Brian Armstrong, attributed the results to its diversification push, stating that it 'validates' the exchange's strategy of offering a wide range of services beyond just Bitcoin trading.
