Coinbase Taps Regulated Stablecoin Expert Martin Carrica for Leadership Role

Martin Carrica has joined Coinbase as its stablecoin lead. In this role, he will focus on expanding the distribution and influence of stablecoins as the company develops its efforts around the technology.

Carrica comes from a background in regulated stablecoin projects at Mountain Protocol and Anchorage, where he spent four years working on such initiatives before moving to Coinbase. Anchorage is a licensed crypto institution, while Mountain Protocol is a stablecoin issuer.

Carrica has described stablecoins as 'highly transformative' and noted that they have achieved considerable success but remain at a relatively small scale.
