Coinbase Tests AI Agents Modeled on Former Executives
Coinbase is testing AI agents modeled after former executives Fred Ehrsam and Balaji Srinivasan, who both have ties to the company. The two agents, 'Fred' and 'Balaji,' are being integrated into Coinbase's Slack channels and email systems as virtual strategic advisors.
According to CEO Brian Armstrong, these AI agents will provide high-level feedback and help staff refine documents, strategies, and proposals. 'Fred' is designed as a strategic executive agent, while 'Balaji' is focused on creative and long-term thinking for extended projects.
Armstrong also mentioned that the plan is to make it easy for any employee to create their own agents for personal or team use. He even speculated that there may be more AI agents than human employees at Coinbase in the future.
