Coinbase Tokenized Stocks Smash $1 Billion in First Month
Coinbase's tokenized stocks have seen explosive growth on its Base network, exceeding $1 billion in decentralized exchange trading volume within their first month of existence.
The milestone, recorded as of September 19, represents an astonishing 830.5% month-over-month increase in trading volume.
Coinbase launched its tokenized equities on August 24, starting with four major US stocks: Nvidia (NVDAc), Apple (AAPLc), Alphabet (GOOGLc), and Meta (METAc). Each token is built using the B20 standard and represents a 1:1 claim on the underlying share, held in regulated custody.
The tokens live natively on Base and trade on decentralized exchanges, currently restricted to eligible non-US users only.
