Coinbase has expanded its crypto lending business with a new fixed-rate loan product that lets customers borrow USDC against their Bitcoin at a set interest rate.

The exchange launched the loans through Morpho Midnight on its Ethereum layer-2 network, Base. Unlike Coinbase's existing variable-rate products, the rates for these loans are determined when they're opened and don't change during the loan term.

Coinbase offers fixed loans that mature either at the end of the current month or the following month, with 'end of month' defined as the final Friday of the month. This structure gives Bitcoin holders another way to access liquidity without selling their BTC.
