Coinbase's Chief Policy Officer Hails Clarity Act as Bipartisan 'Win-Win' Legislation

Share

Coinbase's Chief Policy Officer Faryar Shirzad expressed optimism regarding the Clarity Act, calling it an 'extraordinarily bipartisan piece of work.'

Shirzad spoke with Fox Business on Monday, stating that the bill is ready for final action and that he expects a vote as soon as next week.

The Clarity Act has been in the works since last year, aiming to set clear regulations for cryptocurrencies. However, its latest draft has raised concerns among some Democrats.

A group of lawmakers recently expressed dissatisfaction with the bill's current form, citing issues such as a ban on officials and their families promoting or issuing crypto.

Despite these concerns, Shirzad downplayed banking lobbyists' objections to stablecoin yields and ethics. He pointed out that top U.S. banks, including JP Morgan and Bank of America, have already started adopting blockchain technology in various capacities.
