Coinbase's Tokenized Stocks Go Live on Base

Share

Coinbase has made its tokenized stocks available on Base, allowing users to hold shares of major US companies like Apple and Nvidia in their self-custody wallets. The tokens are backed one-for-one by underlying shares held with regulated custodian Alpaca and can be traded around the clock through on-chain markets.

The initial assets include tokenized shares of Apple, Nvidia, Meta, and Alphabet. Base said additional Coinbase tokenized stocks will be added over the coming weeks.

Users outside the US are eligible to hold these tokens directly in their wallets. Unlike traditional equities, they can trade 24/7 through on-chain markets, making it possible for users to lend or borrow against the assets using protocols like Aave.
