Coinbase's Tokenized Stocks Launch on Base with Major Brands
Coinbase's tokenized stocks have gone live on Base, a decentralized finance (DeFi) platform. The four initial tickers are NVDAc, METAc, AAPLc, and GOOGLc, which track Nvidia, Meta, Apple, and Alphabet respectively.
These tokens run on B20, a token standard developed by Base for stablecoins and real-world assets. B20 extends the ERC-20 standard, allowing existing wallets, routers, and protocols to handle the tokens without custom integration work.
The launch marks the first major deployment of B20 at scale. On day one, the four tokens held roughly $4.55 million in combined on-chain value, with DEX liquidity sitting near $3.06 million and 24-hour trading volume reaching about $10.8 million.
