CoinEx Announces Closure Amid Crypto Market Uncertainty

Share

CoinEx, a nearly nine-year-old cryptocurrency exchange, is closing its operations. The platform will completely terminate its services on December 22 after announcing a phased closure process starting September 15, 2026.

The exchange cited the prolonged crypto market downturn, shrinking trading volume and liquidity, increasing regulatory requirements in major countries, and rising compliance costs as reasons for its decision.

CoinEx has provided a detailed timeline of its closure, which includes:

New user registrations will be stopped on September 15, with futures trading being moved to reduce-only mode. On September 22, all non-spot services, including futures, staking, and lending, will cease.

On September 29, all spot trading will stop, leaving users with only a short window to withdraw their assets before the platform closes completely on December 22.
