CoinEx Announces Permanent Shutdown Amid Rising Regulatory Hurdles

Share

CoinEx, a nine-year-old cryptocurrency exchange, announced it will shut down permanently on December 22, 2026. The decision was made due to weak market conditions, diminished liquidity, and rising compliance costs.

The company cited the long crypto winter, shrinking liquidity, and regulatory hurdles in key jurisdictions as reasons for its unsustainable operational costs and regulatory uncertainty.

CoinEx will gradually discontinue services starting September 15, with all operations ending on December 22. During this period, users can withdraw their assets at any time, but the company recommends doing so as early as possible to avoid blockchain congestion and network fees.
