CoinEx Shuts Down Amid Regulatory Costs and Falling Volumes
CoinEx, a cryptocurrency exchange, has announced it will shut down after nearly nine years in operation. The platform cited falling trading volumes, weaker liquidity, and rising regulatory costs as reasons for its decision.
The exchange will begin winding down services on September 15, 2026, with users having until December 22 to withdraw their assets before the platform formally closes.
CoinEx's founder, Yang Haipo, stated that the exchange had survived multiple crypto bull and bear markets but failed to become one of the industry's leading exchanges.
Haipo emphasized that user funds are safe, with CoinEx's reserve ratio exceeding 100%, and every user asset is fully backed and available for withdrawal.
