CoinMarketCap Bolsters Data Platform with Coinglass Acquisition
CoinMarketCap has expanded its business scope into a comprehensive cryptocurrency data platform by acquiring Coinglass, a derivatives data specialist. The acquisition will allow CoinMarketCap users to access not only spot price information but also leveraged-market data such as open interest, funding rates, and liquidations.
The deal was completed on September 25, local time, with the exact value undisclosed. Coinglass will continue to operate independently after the acquisition, maintaining its existing brand, team, website, mobile app, analytics tools, API, and pricing policy unchanged.
Coinglass, founded in 2019, tracks open interest, funding rates, liquidations, long-short ratios, and options in the cryptocurrency derivatives market. It currently covers over 2,500 products across 28 exchanges, serving more than 5 million monthly users and 10,000 API clients.
