Coinme Taps Compliance Veteran to Expand Fiat On- and Off-Ramps Internationally
Coinme has hired Laurent Reichert as its Chief Compliance Officer to expand its licensed fiat on- and off-ramps into new international markets. The appointment comes ahead of Polygon Labs' acquisition of Coinme, which is expected to close after receiving customary regulatory approvals.
Reichert brings nearly 20 years of experience building and scaling compliance and risk programs at fintech and crypto companies, including Paxos, Nium, and WorldRemit. He has a background in financial crimes compliance, including anti-money laundering, know-your-customer (KYC) processes, sanctions, and enterprise risk management across more than 14 licensed jurisdictions worldwide.
Coinme already holds money-transmitter licenses across the US, operating in 48 U.S. states, with a retail footprint of 50,000 locations and serving over one million consumer app users. Reichert will lead Coinme's compliance function as the company builds out licensing, monitoring, and reporting frameworks required to operate its fiat on- and off-ramps across additional jurisdictions.
