CoinShares Renames Mining ETF to Reflect Bitcoin-AI Infrastructure Convergence

CoinShares has renamed its US-listed mining ETF, WGMI, to CoinShares Bitcoin Mining and Digital Power ETF. This change reflects the growing convergence of bitcoin mining and AI infrastructure.

The company's strategy update positions WGMI to capture the build-out of the energy and compute backbone behind bitcoin and artificial intelligence. This is anchored in listed bitcoin miners that already operate on a gigawatt scale, with custom power agreements, immersion cooling, and engineering teams capable of running dense compute 24/7.

The Fund's investment universe has been broadened to reflect a structural shift in the industry, where bitcoin miners are increasingly operating as digital infrastructure operators. WGMI will now invest at least 80% of its net assets in Bitcoin Mining and Digital Power Companies, which includes companies involved in hyperscale data centers, semiconductors for AI workloads, power generation, and high-performance computing.
