Bitcoin ETF Outflows Soar to Largest Since June Amid Investor Caution
Bitcoin's spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have seen their largest weekly outflows since June, reversing strong inflows from earlier in August. The 13 US-listed Bitcoin ETFs collectively experienced net withdrawals of $389.7 million during the week ended August 10.
This marks a significant shift in investor sentiment, as concerns over potential higher interest rates and limited progress on crypto regulation have weighed heavily. Additionally, a recent security incident involving Coldcard-branded offline wallets has raised questions about crypto custody, further contributing to investor caution.
The Bitcoin ETFs provide investors with exposure to the cryptocurrency's price movements without requiring direct purchase or storage of BTC. Despite this, market volatility has remained relatively subdued, with the Bitcoin implied volatility index standing at around 37 on Monday.
