CoinShares Stock Edges Up on Strong Crypto Demand Survey
CoinShares PLC (CSHR) saw a modest gain of 0.41% on Monday, closing at $4.95, as the company published a significant crypto survey. The research, conducted with Vardaxoglou Advisory, polled 2,230 affluent investors across seven major markets in Europe and the US. It revealed that crypto ownership was highest in the US, UK, Germany, and Switzerland, each at around 70%, while Sweden had the lowest rate at 54%. Despite a sharp market downturn in February 2026, demand for digital assets remained resilient, particularly in Germany, where 54% of respondents became more likely to allocate funds post-downturn.
The survey highlighted strong intentions among current crypto holders to increase their exposure in 2026. In the US, UK, and Germany, 91% of holders planned to raise their digital asset allocations. Bitcoin was the dominant asset, held by 80% of crypto investors on average, though 89% of Bitcoin holders also owned other cryptocurrencies. Portfolio allocations averaged around 10%, indicating a long-term investment approach rather than short-term trading.
Regulation and wealth management services emerged as key factors influencing demand. About 79% of respondents supported stronger regulation, with US policy developments significantly boosting investment intent. Additionally, 69% of investors expressed interest in working with wealth managers specializing in digital assets, while 88% admitted to lacking sufficient knowledge to allocate funds confidently. Younger investors, aged 18 to 44, allocated roughly twice as much to crypto as older groups, suggesting a potential shift in market dynamics as wealth transfers to younger generations.
