Coldcard Exploit Unleashes $114M in Stolen Bitcoin, 10% Funneled into ETH via THORChain
A recent Coldcard exploit has led to the theft of approximately $114.7 million in Bitcoin, according to Galaxy Research.
The researchers attribute 1,789.28 BTC stolen from 8,865 addresses to the exploit, with median reported losses above 1 BTC.
An analysis by CryptoQuant confirms that 1,432 BTC was indeed stolen, but this figure may be on the lower end of estimates.
The stolen funds have been laundered through various channels, including a route into Ether via THORChain.
A significant portion of these ill-gotten gains, around 10%, has been directed towards the Ethereum blockchain via THORChain's network.
