CoinKite's firmware bug has compromised Coldcard hardware wallets, affecting over 4,585 BTC ($63,826.00 · Live) owners.

The flaw is attributed to faulty firmware on devices from March 2021 through late last week. Co-founders Rodolfo Novak and Peter Gray have apologized for the issue, stating they are committed to working with affected users.

Victims should report to law enforcement immediately to protect any remaining funds and document their loss for legal procedures.
