Coldcard Hacker Wallets Stir Concern with $1.94 Million Bitcoin Transfer

A recent on-chain transaction involving Coldcard hacker wallets has sparked concerns about a potential cash-out. On August 7, 2026, a wallet associated with the hack transferred 30.185 BTC to a new address, valued at approximately $1.94 million.

This movement marks the first time funds have been moved from the hacked wallets since the initial theft. According to on-chain tracker Lookonchain, this represents roughly 1.5% of the estimated 2,055 BTC linked to the Coldcard breach.

The transfer does not confirm that the Bitcoin will be sold or exchanged, but analysts consider it an early sign of an attempted cash-out. Attackers often move funds through a series of wallets before attempting to exchange them for other assets or fiat currency.
